It isn't fair that people in the South get to play golf in the winter. Goodness Graycius Golf is a no-frills golf simulator. It's not perfect, but neither is your golf swing. Local testers think it's pretty close to accurate, and plenty of fun!
Goodness Graycius Golf is a "no-frills" golf simulator. It's not a perfectly clean screen in a well manicured room with theater black out acoustic curtains lining the walls (though we do have nets for your safety and the safety of my ceiling, windows, and walls). It's a screen you can hit a ball into, and the simulator will project your ball flight pretty accurately. It's not a TrackMan, though it is a doppler radar based system. This means you can hit your own balls. No more range balls with an array of lines drawn on them like other simulators.
One thing we did splurge on for your comfort was the turf. You'll be hitting off of a Country Club Elite® golf mat, which allows you to hit down and through the ball without breaking your wrist.
Goodness Graycius Golf, LLC, does not sell alcohol. We do sell some pop, gatorade, and bottled water.
Goodness Graycius Golf, LLC, also does not have clubs for you to use or balls to buy.
So bring your own clubs and balls and have some fun playing golf indoors. The room is kept at 65 degrees during the winter, so dress appropriately. There are over 35 courses to choose from. The software supports up to 8 players at a time (though we've found this can result in very slow play, unless you are playing best shot). Whether it's just you, or your regular foursome, or maybe an 8 person best shot group, the hourly rate remains the same.
Goodness Graycius Golf, LLC is located at 112 W. Jefferson St., Suite 1, next to Rockhold Law, PLLC. It is on Highway 2 on the southwest corner of the square. Parking is available behind the building and on the side (the west side). It is recommended that you come through the back door, as it's simply an easier door to walk through with a golf bag.
The Goodness Graycius Golf simulator is sold by the hour. Generally speaking, it takes 1 hour/person to play 18 holes. If it's you and a friend, then expect to take 2 hours to play 18 holes. If it's your foursome, then expect 4 hours to play 18 holes. If there are 8 of you, then it will take 8 hours (unless you are playing best shot, and even then, it may still take more than 4 hours). You can book a tee time using the "Book Now" button at the top of the page.
1 hour = $40.00 + sales tax
2 hours = $80.00 + sales tax
3 hours = $120.00 + sales tax
4 hours = $160.00 + sales tax
5 minutes of the time you purchase will be used to set the simulator up for you and your group.
Please note, your card will be charged at the time of booking. If you cancel more than 48 hours before your tee time, you will be given a partial refund of 95%. If you cancel between 24-48 hours before your tee time, you will receive a partial refund of 50%. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your tee time, you will not receive any refund.
1. What are your hours?
800am-500pm Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday
2. Can I just walk in and play?
No, you must set up an appointment, either online, or by phone
3. What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 48 hours before your tee time, you will be given a partial refund of 95%. If you cancel between 24-48 hours before your tee time, you will receive a partial refund of 50%. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your tee time, you will not receive any refund.
4. Do you have clubs or balls?
No, you must bring your own clubs and balls. We do have some tees for hitting off the turf.
5. I really want to play on some day that you aren’t open? Can you fit me in?
It is possible. Give me your name and number, and I will call you back.
6. Do you sell alcohol?
No.
7. Do you sell non-alcoholic drinks?
Yes, pop, water, and Gatorade can be purchased on site.
8. Can I bring my own non-alcoholic beverages?
No.
9. How accurate is it?
It’s not the best simulator in the world. Shots 25 yards and longer are very accurate. Usually, shots shorter than that aren’t necessarily inaccurate, but instead simply don’t register. You will be given a few tips to prevent this at the start of your tee time.
10. Can we putt?
You can, but it is not recommended. The simulator will struggle to see putts less than 8 feet long, it requires a ‘unique’ putting stroke, and adds additional time it takes to complete a hole.
11. How much time should I get?
Generally speaking, it takes 1 person 1 hour to play 18 holes. So, 1 person = 1 hour, 2 people = 2 hours, etc.
12. I just want to practice on a driving range, does the simulator have a driving range?
Yes.
13. Can I just pay when I get there?
No, you must prepay at the time of booking. Your card will be charged at the time of booking.
14. How much does it cost?
$40.00 per hour, plus sales tax.
15. There will be 4 of us, is it $40.00/hour per person?
No, it’s $40.00 per hour, whether there is 1 of you, or 4 of you.
16. I want to bring 8 people, does the simulator support that?
Yes, but it’s not recommended, as that could take 8 hours to finish 18 holes. There is a best shot mode. However, the scorecard for best shot currently does not work correctly.
1. No simulator is perfect. This one is no exception. The launch monitor has a hard time seeing short shots. Short shots are those shorter than 25 yards. For this reason, we recommend choosing autoputting during simulation play. Generally, if you are 25 yards or closer, on or off the green, the program will 'putt out' for you, and add the strokes to your score. Your options will be explained during the 5 minute setup at the beginning of your tee time.
2. Best shot mode works, but the scorecard in best shot mode does not work. This is a software issue, which the software company is aware of. If you want to play best shot, keep track of your own score.
3. You are responsible for damage to the building or equipment.
4. You are hitting a golf ball in excess of 50 mph towards a screen that is 9-10 feet in front of you. Although Goodness Graycius Golf took precautions to prevent bounce back, it is still physically possible for the ball to bounce back at you. There is a risk of injury, which you assume.
5. Only the player hitting the ball may be within the hitting area (the area that has turf).
6. Software and glitches happen with any simulator. Just roll with it and have fun. If for some reason we have to reset the simulator while you are playing, we can take a picture of your score card so you remember what your scores were and what hole you were on.
